Surrounded by family, teammates, and coaches, North Lamar senior Brentin Jackson officially signed to play football at McMurry University, marking the next chapter in an incredible journey rooted in hard work, heart, and Panther pride.
Brentin, the son of Rain Jackson and brother to Brea Jackson, Daniel Gillard, and Jour’nee Gautier, has worn the blue and gold with pride since day one. His football story began as a freshman on the JV team, traveling with varsity and serving as the ball boy. Early exposure to varsity athletes fueled his determination to play at the next level.
By sophomore year, Brentin’s work ethic paid off with a promotion to varsity. As a junior, he secured a starting spot just a few games into the season. As a senior? He balled out—becoming a leader on and off the field and making unforgettable plays, including a pick-six during his Senior Homecoming game, a moment he says he’ll never forget.
“Coach Stout has been one of the biggest influences in my corner,” Brentin shared. “He’s been coaching me since freshman year, not only teaching me football but guiding me in life. Those car rides where we just talked about life meant everything.”
Brentin offered advice to younger athletes: “Grind, and give it your all.” He credits his success to God, his family, coaches, and friends who’ve supported him along the way.
“It’s always a great day to be a Panther,” Brentin said with a smile, as he signed his letter of intent to continue chasing his dream at the collegiate level.
