North Lamar ISD celebrated the second graduating class of the Bailey Success Center Alternative Learning Center with a heartfelt commencement ceremony held on January 17 at 6 p.m. in the North Lamar High School Auditorium. Four graduates, surrounded by family, friends, and supporters, were honored for their achievements in this unique program that provides an alternative path to academic success.
The evening’s ceremony featured an inspiring address by the Director of Bailey Success Center, Patrick Fuller, who encouraged graduates to embrace the true meaning of success. “Surround yourself with people who inspire you, support you, and challenge you,” the director advised. “Remember, success is not based solely on a paycheck but on the impact you make in your community, the relationships you build, and the kindness you show to others.”
Three graduates shared personal reflections on their journey and the impact the Bailey Success Center had on their lives:
- Kayla Lamire: “If it weren’t for the ALC program, I would be a high school dropout. Now, I’m a high school graduate.”
- Kinslee Hicks: “This program taught me to slow down and focus on what’s most important in life.”
- Laramy Smith: “I only hope students who need a different learning environment find Bailey like I did. It will change their school experience for the better.”
The graduates honored at the ceremony included:
- Kinslee B. Hicks
- Kayla J. Lamire
- Da’Marion L. Mason
- Laramy D. Smith
- Jaxon C. Wallace
Although Jaxon Wallace was unable to attend the ceremony, his absence was for an admirable reason—he has already taken the next step in his life and is currently at boot camp, getting an early start on his future.
The Bailey Success Center continues to provide a vital resource for students needing a more personalized and supportive learning environment, paving the way for brighter futures and lifelong success.
