North Lamar High School HOSA was recently awarded a $1500 grant for hosting three blood drives and collecting 327 units this past school year.
The Impact Awards program rewards schools that participate in supporting our community blood supply by hosting blood drives with Carter BloodCare.
With 25% of all blood donations coming from high school blood drives, high schools are at the forefront of instilling blood donation as a lifelong practice in young people.
Carter BloodCare awards Impact Awards to public and private high schools based on their overall annual blood drive performance and eligibility, and the award is intended to be used towards scholarship programs within the schools.
For the 2024-2025 school year, Carter BloodCare awarded over $187,000 in grants to participating schools in the North, East and Central Texas areas.
