This year marks the 40th annual celebration of National Night Out, a community-building national
campaign that promotes partnerships between public safety agencies and their respective
communities. Police Chief Richard Salter said “National Night Out affords the City’s Public Safety
Departments’ employees an annual venue to interact with citizens and our youth in a positive
environment to help build trust and facilitate a true sense of community”
“The Paris Police Department is happy to organize this National Night Out event for the citizens
of Lamar County.” Kimmie Snowton, Community Outreach Coordinator for the Paris Police
Department, said. “We look forward to meeting, visiting and enjoying the evening with citizens
of all ages.”
This year’s event will be supported by Paris Police, Fire and EMS Departments, the Lamar County
Sheriff’s Office, The Texas Department of Transportation, Reno Police and Fire Departments,
Lamar County Game Wardens, Texas Department of Public Safety-Highway Patrol, and several
more representatives from Paris businesses and Non-profit Organizations that have generously
contributed food and door prizes that will be given away during the evening. According to Mr.
Snowton, many door prizes will include more than 20 bicycles, Apple I-Pads and Televisions. The
“Slightly Used Band” will be providing live-music entertainment for the evening.
