Mr. James Glynn Todd, age 87, of Paris, TX, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, July 30, 2024, at Heritage House of Paris with family surrounding him. He was born February 2, 1937, in Honey Grove, TX, to the late Lee Todd and Beulah Todd (Bennington). He grew up in Lamar County where he loved to hunt, trap, and fish. At the age of 20, he traveled to California to work in the peach orchards where he met and married the love of his life, Claudette Marie Stark on July 17, 1957, in Hughson, California. They moved to Texas where they were happily married for 63 years and raised 5 beautiful children. He worked hard for years and retired from Merico Box as a die maker. After retirement, Glynn and Claudette moved to Oklahoma to enjoy their retirement with family and friends. He was a devoted Christian and a member of Pathway Church of God where he rededicated his life to the Lord. He enjoyed going to church, Mexican food, and breakfast at McKee’s. Glynn was preceded in death by his wife Claudette Todd, parents Lee and Beulah Todd, brothers Robert Lee, and George Todd (Monika), daughter Glenda Pilkington, son James Todd, grandparents, aunts, and uncles. He is survived by his children: Robert Todd (Hollie) of Hopewell, TX; Larry Todd of Sumner, TX; Karen Birdsong (James) of Paris, TX; James Howell (close family friend); Grandchildren: Terry Pilkington, Jeremy Todd (Winter), Joshua Todd, Wendy Todd (Charles Brown), Katy Spear (Andy), Amanda Pruett (Jason), Jason Todd (Allison), Meagan Henry (Tim), Lauren Price (Corey), Jessica Roberts (Kenny), Chelsie Birdsong, and Dustin Birdsong; 29 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly. A Celebration of Glynn’s life will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Pathway International Church of God with Pastor Samuel Evers officiating. Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery, FM 2820, Sumner, TX 75486 immediately following.
Cremation was under the care and direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home.
