Mildred Faye Tomblin Caviness, 95, left this life for her heavenly rewards on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024, at Heritage House of Paris.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 2:00 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23rd at the Evergreen Chapel of Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Billy Norris officiating.
Faye, the fifth child of Virgil E. & Hazel Stamper Tomblin, was born Oct. 13, 1928 in the Limkill Community of Lamar County.
Faye graduated from Roxton High School in 1946. She retired from Nation Bank.
She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and the Esther Sunday school class and was also a member of RSVP.
She worked twenty years, clocking in more than 8,000 hours with the Paris Regional Medical Center Auxiliary in the accounting department.
In 1970, she married her true love and mate, Wayne Caviness. He preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 2012. She was also preceded in death by brothers; Eugene Tomblin & wife Juanita, Paul Tomblin & wife Madge, Marion Tomblin & wife Imogene, Robert Tomblin & wife Joyce, and Thomas Tomblin, a sister, Dorothy Blankenship & husband Herschel, and a sister-in-law, Ann Tomblin.
Survivors include a brother, Wayne Tomblin of Paris, a sister-in-law, Rita Tomblin of Powderly, a step-daughter, Karen Mitcham of Huffman, a step-grandson, Johnny Grant of Huffman, a step-granddaughter, Alisha Self & husband Jerad of Conroe, a step-great grandson, Colby Grant of Huffman, a step-great granddaughter, Lexi Self of Conroe, several nieces & nephews; Marilyn Marshall, Paula Kay Martin, Suzanne Smith, Amy Tomblin, Paula Ann Dudzienski, Kim Walker, Cathy Williams, Mark Wayne Tomblin and Jason Tomblin, two very special friends, Brinda Poteet and Neva Vickers along with a host of friends.
Her nieces & nephews cherished their Aunt Faye because when they were small she played with them and took them on picnics on the Tomblin’s family farm in the Atlas Community.
