According to the Wall Street Journal, the Federal Trade Commission has opened an investigation to figure out why McDonald’s ice cream machines seem to always be broken.
Over the summer, the WSJ reported, the FTC had sent McDonald’s franchise owners letters asking for information about the ice cream machines. McDonald’s franchise owners have reportedly complained about the machines’ complexity and how when they break, a fix is difficult to come across.
According to WSJ, the FTX is working toward whether restaurant owners can work on machines in their own store or not.
