Mathews Auto Group has been busy paying it forward – from presenting Salvation Army volunteer with Visa gift cards and volunteering to restock freezers and shelves at Paris’ Downtown Food Pantry to sponsoring teens to participate in Young Life’s annual national camping trip and more.
“After arriving in Paris in 2019, we witnessed an overwhelming abundance of community support,” Mathews Auto Group GM/Partner Tim Anderson said. “It is by the efforts and service of many different organizations, clubs and individuals who make Lamar County a better place to live, thrive and grow. These entities are responsible for one common thing in many different capacities, but they all give. They give their time, talents and opportunities.”
As a thank you for what Front-Line Medical staff do, Mathews Auto Group stopped by Quality Care ER, Signature Care, Healthcare Express, Salas Minor Emergency, Xzact Therapy and others to drop off gourmet fruit, cookies and snacks.
“The Rotary Club makes a positive difference in our community, that is filled with people who are committed to serve others,” Anderson said. “So we sponsored their lunch for all 40 members. We also are sponsoring their annual banquet at the country club.”
Mathews Auto Group surprised the Chamber of Commerce’s staff, thanking them for “the warm welcoming they provide all incoming businesses” with gas cards to use in their personal vehicles.
Grateful for how the Kiwanis Club of Paris serves Lamar County children, Mathews Auto Group hired a food truck, owned by a local restaurant, to serve the club’s 50 members during a weekly meeting.
Mathews Auto Group has partnered with Paris, North Lamar, Chisum and Prairiland ISDs to help the districts recognize and reward each of the two teachers of the month with Visa gift cards.
The group also recognized Texas Oncology’s “great group of people by contacting a local food truck to stop and feed the entire staff of 60 some great, authentic Mexican food.”
At 8:30 a.m., a group of 15 On-Call Home Health workers visit and care for patients; Mathews Auto Group had breakfast catered for them before their day began.
“Our associates are active volunteers on the weekly route to feed the elderly with Meals on Wheels,” Anderson said. “We also provided fans for the fan drive to help the Veterans and elderly who have no A/C.”
The Mathews Auto Group also contributes to CASA for KIDS of Paris’ annual fundraiser, alongside host and partner with local, new car franchises to raise money for the Toys for Tots’ bicycle drive.
Mathews Auto Group also plans to host an upcoming banquet recognizing all female Veterans in Lamar County, which will be held at the dealership at a later time.
“At Mathews Auto Group, we recognized these selfless acts and wanted to thank those who volunteer, who enrich, and who choose to do something to help make our world a much nicer place to live,” Anderson said.
