“Praise the Lord.”
If you ever called Mary, those were likely the very first words you heard before anything else. Whether life was full of joy, hardship, celebration, or uncertainty, her response was always the same: “Praise the Lord.” It wasn’t just something she said—it was the way she lived. Her faith in her Heavenly Father never wavered. It was the foundation of her life, the source of her strength, and the gift she shared with everyone around her.
Mary Ann Kirkpatrick Hall was born on February 12, 1943 in Bryan, Texas. She graduated from Bryan High School and later went on to cosmetology school in Bryan, Texas.
One thing can be said with certainty: if you crossed paths with Mary, she prayed for you. She believed deeply in the power of prayer and faithfully lifted her family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers before the Lord. While our hearts are saddened by her absence, we find peace knowing she is now completely healed, resting in the presence of her Savior, and receiving the reward for a life spent faithfully sharing God’s love.
Mary was so much more than a woman of unwavering faith. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished sister, a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, a talented homemaker, and a caring hairdresser. Caring for others wasn’t simply something she did—it was who she was.
She lovingly raised her children with patience, grace, and unconditional love. Her kitchen was filled with homemade pies, cakes, and the banana bread her family eagerly looked forward to. She poured the same love into her home that she poured into every relationship, creating a place where everyone felt welcomed and cared for.
When she wasn’t tending to her family, Mary could often be found behind a salon chair in her home cutting hair, giving perms, and sharing her love for the Lord with everyone who sat in front of her. Many also remember seeing her joyfully playing the tambourine in church, singing hymns with a heart full of praise.
To many she was Mary or Mrs. Hall, but to those who loved her most, she was simply “Mamaw.” Her home was a place of comfort and encouragement. Whether you needed advice, a listening ear, an update on the latest happenings, or simply someone to remind you that God was in control, Mamaw’s door—and heart—were always open. She treasured every one of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, taking immense pride in watching them grow, build families of their own, and always keeping each of them at the top of her prayer list.
Mary dedicated her entire life to serving others. While many would find such a life exhausting, she gave of herself willingly and joyfully. Even in her final months, slowing down was never her priority. Her children can all attest that she continued caring for others long after her own body begged for rest. Service was her calling, and she answered it faithfully until the very end.
Today, her earthly work is complete. Her body has been made whole, her pain has been replaced with perfect peace, and she now rests with the One she faithfully praised every day of her life. There is no more sickness, no more suffering, and no more tears—only everlasting joy in the presence of her Heavenly Father.
Though our hearts grieve and long for the day we are reunited with her, we know exactly what Mary would want us to do: Praise the Lord. Praise Him in good times, in difficult times, in sickness and in health, and even when answering the phone. Her life was a testimony that God is faithful through every season, and that legacy will continue through the generations she loved so dearly.
Mary leaves behind a family forever shaped by her love, strengthened by her prayers, and inspired by her unwavering faith. Her legacy is not only found in the lives she touched but in the countless hearts she pointed toward Christ.

Mary is preceded in death by her spouse, Jimmy A. Hall, her father, Dee Franklin Kirkpatrick; mother, Evelyn Britton; and stepfather, Oliver Britton. Great-grandson Gideon Hall.
Mary is survived by her sister Molly Crutchfield and husband Bill; brothers Leonard Kirkpatrick and wife Linda, and James Kirkpatrick and wife Jenifer. Son Charles Hall, and Robert Hall and wife Kayla. Steven Hall and wife Lora, daughter Susan Hall Dicken, husband Billy. Sister-in-law- Beth Fowler. Grandchildren Benji Hall wife Kayla, Katelyn Peek husband Arron, Lucas Dicken, Karma Dicken, Keith Hall wife Sydney, Katy Hall Langford husband Logan. Kelsey Hall Newton, husband Logan, Caleb Hall, wife Lindsay, Abby Hall Woods, husband Garrett. Great-grandchildren: Grainger Justice, Alton and Josie Peek. Phoenix, Eliana, Alora Hall, Grayson and Scotlyn Woods, Kallaway Newton, Lainey Hall, Sadie Hall. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Platinum Home Health and Hospice for the exceptional compassion and care they provided. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Bercher, Dr. Hurt, Rachel Woods, Halena Ward, Cassie Burns, and Vickie O’Neal for their kindness, dedication, and loving care shown to Jim and his family during his final days.
Services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Monday, July 27, 2026 in the chapel of Evergreen Cemetery with Mark Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to service. Services under the direction of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home. Obituary written by Katelyn Peek.
