Martha Ann “Mart” House, 79, of Blossom, passed away Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023, at her home while surrounded by family.
Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13th at The Cowboy Church in the Camp with Duane Hamil & Jeff Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in Knights of Honor Cemetery. The family will receive friends form 5-6 p.m. Sunday at Bright-Holland Funeral Home.
Mrs. House, the daughter of Marvin “Bo” Wilmoth & Aline Qualls Wilmoth, was born Nov. 27, 1943, in Idabel, OK.
She graduated from Idabel High School. On Aug. 29, 1963, she married Thomas Lee House, building 49 years of family and memories before his death on May 27, 2013.
Mart and Shirley Jaynes pioneered Girls Softball in Blossom, where she was known by many children as “Mama Mart” or “Nanny”. Mart was considered the neighborhood mom, and all the children spent many hours at her home.
She was an avid bowler and bowled on two teams with the Paris Bowling League. When her children were in high school, Mart began working at the Anderson Candy Company for more than ten years. She then worked a number of years at the Shell Station in Blossom.
She was a member of The Cowboy Church in the Camp.
Survivors include three children, Deanna House Ramsey & husband Tommy, Kim House Figley & husband Brian, and Mark House & wife Deidra, grandchildren, Brenton Norwood & wife Erica, Trent House & wife Brook, Tanner Beard & wife Lauren, Brett House & wife Cheyenne, Johnnie House, Karlee Alexander, Dax Jallo, and Cathie House Sides, two great grandchildren, Ava Grace Norwood and Parker Claire Beard and a sister, Betty Martin, along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Bill Wilmoth and Bob Wilmoth.
Casket bearers will be: Daniel Hart, Brenton Norwood, Tanner Beard, Trent House, Brett House, and Johnnie House.
