After a long and vibrant life, Margie Lucille Scott Lyon, 94, entered her heavenly home on July 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving children.
Born on November 30, 1930, in Chelsea, Oklahoma, she was the beloved daughter of Luna and Lucille ( Cook) Scott. On February 12, 1949, she married Clem Lyon, and together they raised four children. Margie made her home in Paris for 65 years and retired from Campbell Soup Company in 1995, after a dedicated 27 year career.
A naturally strong and independent woman, Margie was rarely idle. Family and friends will remember her big personality and radiant, brilliant smile. Her joyful laughter was contagious, and she took delight in life’s simple pleasures. She had a deep love for her children, and her eyes always sparkled during family gatherings. She was an amazing cook, and continued preparing holiday feasts well into her 90s. Grandchildren and greatgrandchildren alike cherished Nanny’s house as their favorite gathering place.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her siblings (Ted, Randy, Marymarie, and Martharose), a precious daughter-in-law Donett Lyon, and her son-in-law Ernie Merriman.
She is survived by her four children Tim Lyon (Paris), Ina Easley (Blossom), Stacy Lyon (Blossom), and Belinda Merriman (Paris); grandchildren, Justin, Zachary, Stormy, Marisa, Paige, and Tyler; 15 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
The family would like to personally thank Dr. Sid White’s office for their many years of lloving care, her beautician Bianca Holt, and her home health nurse, Amy Harris.
A memorial service will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church in Blossom on Friday, August 8, at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Veteran’s families at Fisher House Foundation (fisherhouse.org), or the charity of your choice.
