The life of a 35-year-old man was claimed Tuesday night after suffering a gunshot wound near the 900 block of E. Hickory Street at about 9:45 p.m.
Paris police responded to the shots fired call at about 9:48 p.m. on Sept. 28 in the 900 block of E. Hickory Street. Other officers responded to the 900 block of E. Booth Street, where it was reported someone had been shot.
Officers found an unresponsive 35-year-old man in a vehicle and requested EMS.
“It was reported that this victim had been shot while in the 900 block of E. Hickory St and was driven to the E. Booth location to get away from the shooting,” said Curtis Garret, Paris Police Department information officer. “The victim was later pronounced deceased at (Paris Regional Medical Center’s Emergency Room).”
In the 900 block of E. Hickory Street, officers found “numerous” shell casings. The investigation continues.
