A man is behind bars this morning after a fatal shooting in Choctaw County on Monday evening.
Around 5:00 p.m., Choctaw County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence near North Ervin Street and East Locust Avenue regarding an individual who had been shot.
“When they arrived on scene, deputies performed life-saving measures for the victim, identified as 21-year-old Dawson Bostic. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later passed away from his injuries,” said officials.
During the investigation, OSBI special agents identified the suspect as 21-year-old Rickey Johnson.
Based on the evidence obtained, Johnson was arrested and booked into the Choctaw County Jail.
Official charges are pending through the Choctaw County District Attorney’s Office, as this is an ongoing investigation.
Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to investigate a homicide in Grant, Oklahoma.
