An estimated 200+ vehicles on the Texas side and 60+ vehicles on the Oklahoma side turned out this past Saturday, Oct. 12 in a public show of support for former President (and current Republican candidate for President) Donald J. Trump.
The parade, hosted by Lamar County Conservatives, drew an estimated 1,000+ participants and onlookers and included an assortment of cars, trucks, buggies, classics and semi-trucks. From Paris, the route proceeded North on 271 all the way to the bypass at Hugo and then made a safe u-turn back to Texas. From Hugo, the route proceeded South on 271 as far south as FM 1499 and then proceeded to make a U-turn back to Oklahoma.
Local Blossom, TX business Unruh Concrete Pumping also staged a massive 30′ x 60′ American flag at the Red River Bridge on the Texas side. The American flag was hoisted using one of Unruh’s 75-meter concrete pumping trucks. With a boom that has a 246-foot vertical reach, the truck and its support system require a footprint roughly the size of a school gymnasium. The truck used in the parade is one of only two of it kind in commission throughout the entire nation.
When reached for comment on the event, Lamar County Conservatives Chairman Robert Black said, “The Trump parades were a great success. It is always great to see patriots expressing their pride in country and to share their common desire to see America be the best it can be and I appreciate everyone who participated or watched from the sidelines. But, now it is time for the most important part: Vote! Everyone must vote, because every vote does truly matter. MAGA!”
