A local family got an unexpected visitor on the water when a young fawn swam directly up to their boat on McGee Creek, west of Antlers, OK, — clearly exhausted and in need of help.
“This was a first for me,” said Keith Draper. “Have you ever been in the middle of the lake and a deer swims up to your boat and wants in?”
Draper captured the moment on video, sharing footage of the fawn swimming toward their boat, struggling to stay afloat.
Without hesitation, the family carefully lifted the tired fawn onto the boat and took it back to shore.
“We drove back to the bank, and I hope he found his mama,” said Draper.
