Local business donates Gatorade to firefighters

As temperatures soar into the triple digits in northeast Texas, those who put their lives on the line every day are more at risk of heat exhaustion and dehydration than ever.

Firemen not only risk their lives every day but when gearing up for a call it’s easy to see how extremely hot they would get in these temperatures.

Therefore, local businesses are going above and beyond to make sure local firemen have plenty of fluids to stay hydrated this summer.

Steve and Marsha Martin of Paris Coffee Company recently donated dozens of cases to local volunteer fire department, Faught VFD.

Faught VFD posted on their Facebook page, “Eli says THANK YOU to Steve and Marsha Martin of Paris Coffee Company for their very generous donation of Gatorade!!!! With the extreme temperature this week and probably for the rest of the summer this will be a huge help in keeping our firefighters hydrated.”

There are many places around town locals can drop off water or Gatorade for fire departments in Lamar County including Kroger and Carpet World (on the loop) or contact your nearest department to see where you can deliver water.
