Local auctioneer Daniel “Deacon” Lewis recently earned his TCAP certification, making him one of only 18 Texas Certified Auction Professionals in Texas.
“The Texas Auctioneers Association makes additional training available that goes above and beyond the classes required to maintain my auctioneer’s license,” said Lewis.
The program, which takes three years to complete, requires students to complete a three-part program focusing on business, marketing, and auction logistics in Texas.
“My job is to serve my clients to the best of my abilities. So, when the TAA made the Texas Certified Auctioneer Professional program available, I signed up. People are entrusting me with decades of family heirlooms and history. How can I do any job other than my best?” he said.
Lewis has been buying and selling at auctions since childhood, ever since his father handed him his first bidder’s card and taught him how auctions work. After many years in the entertainment industry, working in film, television, and radio, Lewis took his love of the auction business to the next level.
In November of 2016, Lewis launched Lewis Auction & Estate Services, and in January the following year, he joined AltaTerra Realty & Auction LLC as a strategic partner.
In addition to joining Alta Terra, Lewis has become a member of the Texas Auctioneer’s Association and National Auctioneer’s Association, allowing him to draw from the expertise of their knowledge base to better serve his client’s auction needs.
Lewis specializes in real estate, inventory reduction, and estate auctions with an interest in any auction marketing to assist clients.
