Linda Kay Preston, 78, of Pattonville, passed away Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, at Medical City Plano.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4th at First Baptist Church Deport with Dr. Michael Flatt and Bro. Brad Miller officiating. Burial will be made in Milton Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6 – 8 p.m.
Kay, the daughter of James Holt & Dorothy Johnson Holt, was born Jan. 14, 1947, in Lamar County. She graduated from East Lamar High School and East Texas State University. Kay then began working at Campbell Soup followed by Security Finance. She later owned and operated AAA Loans before working a period of time at Boyd Jewelers. Kay then began working at Walmart where she retired.
She was a lifelong faithful member of First Baptist Church Deport where she played the piano for many years. Kay had a love of music and taught piano lessons.
Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Ronnie Preston, two sons, Dale Williams and wife Laurie and Tim Parks and wife Daria, two step-children, Jory Preston and Toby Preston and wife Crystal, grandchildren, Haley Williams, Alexis Elliott and husband Allen, Brittany McNeal, Megan Brown and husband Micah, Alyssa Parks, Elizabeth Preston, and Brandon Brewer and wife Erin, nine great grandchildren and two siblings, Barbara Richards and husband Charles and Johnny Holt along with several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Casket bearers will be: Micah Brown, Allen Elliott, Ryan Cope, Jaxon Cope, Chris Holt, and Tyler Holt.
