Leslie Geron Chapman, 89, of the Sylvan Community, passed away Monday, April 20, 2026.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date. His urn will be placed at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery. Cremation was under the care and direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home.
Mr. Chapman, the son of Leslie Porter Chapman and Esma Alice King Chapman, was born July 22, 1936, in Paris, TX.
He graduated from Paris High School and entered the United States Navy where he served in Naval Aviation until his honorable discharge eleven years later. Les ran a trucking business, being leased to C&H Transportation for 25 years. He then owned and operated Les Chapman Transportation for 30 years. He had been a member of the Elks Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Don Fisher Chapman, whom he married on May 8, 1954, building almost 72 years of family and memories. Two Children, Leslie Chapman, Jr. and wife Jamie and Kim Loveless and husband Darrell, six grandchildren, Leslie Geron “Skipper” Chapman, III and wife Amy, Valarie Chapman Harp and husband Hunter, Colby Hindmanand husband Dakota, Derrick Loveless and wife Joanne, Eric Loveless and wife Michelle, and Cheslie Minier and husband Landon, great grandchildren, Brayden, Bryer, Bryleigh, Gracie, Karlie, Trystan and husband Cole, Trynity and husband Parker, Lila, Riley, Campbell, Emery, Presley, Kipton, and Henley, and great great grandchildren, Westin, Maisyn, and Lynnyn along with a host of friends.
