Lenise Allen Posey King, 68, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, sister, teacher, and faithful servant of the Lord, Lenise’s life was one marked by love, music, prayer, and unwavering trust in God.
Lenise was born on October 7, 1957, in Denison, Texas, to C.A. and Margaret Posey. She moved to North Richland Hills in the fourth grade, where she grew roots and lifelong friendships. She graduated from Richland High School and went on to attend Texas Wesleyan University, where her talents and passions fully blossomed. There, she double majored in Music Education and Voice Performance, preparing her not just for a career, but for a calling.
While in college, Lenise met the love of her life, Ricky King. Their love story began during those college years and led to marriage on January 6, 1979, during her junior year. Together, they built a beautiful life grounded in faith, devotion, and joy, sharing 47 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and deep commitment.
Lenise devoted over 30 years of her life to serving as a music teacher with the Richardson Independent School District. To countless elementary students, she was far more than a teacher—she was a source of encouragement, creativity, and inspiration. Through music, she nurtured confidence, discipline, and joy, instilling lifelong memories and a love for the arts in generations of children. Her classroom was a place where every child was valued, welcomed, and encouraged to find their voice.
On March 20, 1981, Lenise and Ricky welcomed their daughter, Ashley, who was the light of her mother’s life. Lenise poured her love and faith into her family, later finding immense joy as a grandmother and greatgrandmother.
In 1988, Lenise placed her full faith and trust in Jesus Christ as her Savior, a decision that transformed her life and guided every step that followed. Her relationship with the Lord grew steadily over the years and became the foundation of who she was as she became a student of the Word. She believed deeply in the power of prayer and lived with a quiet but unshakable confidence in God’s promises. During her cancer journey, Lenise’s faith shone brightly as she continually trusted God’s plan, rested in His peace, and leaned on His strength, serving as a testimony to all who walked beside her during that time. She belonged to His Place Fellowship, where she could be found with her hands lifted high, singing and praising her Heavenly Father.
Lenise is survived by her beloved husband, Ricky King; her daughter, Ashley King Hilliard; her soninlaw, Bradley Hilliard; her cherished granddaughters, Rian Hilliard and Kylee Hilliard Exum; grandson-in-law, Austin Exum; and her precious greatgrandson, Jett Exum. Also survived by her brother, Len Posey; Aunt Roni Linsteadt and a multitude of sister and brother in-laws and nieces and nephews and cousins. She preceded in passing by her father C.A. Posey and her mother, Margaret Posey.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lenise’s life during a visitation on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at His Place Fellowship, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Lenise’s legacy lives on through the music she shared, the faith she lived, the children she inspired, and the family she loved so deeply. Her life was a song of grace, and its melody will be heard for generations to come.
