Lee Sessums 87, left his earthly body and was received by his Lord and Savior. Waiting at the Gates of Heaven was his beloved bride who preceded him in death ten years ago.
Lee was surrounded by his family as he gained his Heavenly body peacefully on Thursday, October 18, 2018. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Rocky Burrow officiating. Family night will be at daughter’s home 3230 Hubbard Street on Sunday, October 21, 2018, from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M.
Lee enjoyed a full life being a husband, dad, granddad, great granddad and wonderful friend to so many. He married the love of his life, Shirley Golightly in 1955 and reared six children during their long and happy married life. He was born on July 11, 1931, to Charlie and Orine Sessums (Harmon).
Preceded in death by his wife, mother and father, sisters, Mary, Bessie, Viola, bothers, Alvie, Jessie, Harvey, grandson, Steven and a beloved son-in-law, Jessie Whitson.
Surviving to cherish his memories are, daughter Sheena Sikes and husband Randy of Paris TX, sons Rickey of Paris TX, Stevey and wife Becky of Durant OK, Terry of Paris TX, Jeff and wife Glenda of Paris TX, Gary and wife Geneva of Arthur City TX, one brother, Gene of Paris TX. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a host of many friends. By the sweat of your brow, you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return. Genesis 3:19.
