An attempted robbery involving a man wearing a paper bag over his head was falsely reported early last week, according to police.
After police followed up on the July 18 reported robbery in the 3800 block of Lamar Ave., where it was reported a man wearing a paper bag over his head, a white bed sheet as a robe and two liter bottles for shoes attempted to rob someone, the victim admitted he had fabricated the story.
Paris Police Officer Curtis Garrett said the case has since been sent to the Lamar County Attorney’s Office to review and possibly charge the person for making a false report.
