Lamar County grand jury returned a murder indictment against a 26-year-old Paris man for the Sept. 28 death of Kenneth Mann, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Davarrious Deone Brown was indicted on a charge of murder in the death of Mann, four counts of aggravated robbery and two counts of felon in possession of a firearm.
According to officers on Sept. 28, Mann was shot while near the 900 block of E. Hickory Street, and was driving to East Booth Street “to get away from the shooting.” He was later pronounced deceased at Paris Regional Medical Center.
According to Lamar County Jail records, Brown is being held on $407,300 worth of bonds, one of which is $250,000 for a murder charge and $100,000 for aggravated robbery.
Brown was previously arrested on May 18, 2021, and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and bond surrender/possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3, less than 28 grams, where his bond was $37,500.
Brown’s court date for the aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge is set for Jan. 28, 2022, in the Honorable Judge Wes Tidwell’s courtroom at 9 a.m.
