The super moon of 2022 will shine on our communities this week – the Strawberry Moon.
According to Native American tribes, the full moon in June is often called the Strawberry Moon, which marks the last full moon of spring of the first of summer. Strawberries are harvested in parts of North America during this time of year.
June Moon Folklore from the Old Farmers Almanac:
- A growing Moon and a flowing tide are lucky times to marry.
- Days following both the New and Full Moons are most likely to be rainy or stormy.
- Crabbing, shrimping, and clamming are best when the Moon is full.
The Strawberry Moon will make its appearance on Tuesday, June 14.
