Johnny H. Whitney, 79, of Minter, passed away Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024, at Paris Regional Health.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24th at Minter Cemetery with Rev. Robert Dodson officiating.
Johnny, the son of Russell Whitney & Mary Helen Landrum Whitney was born Oct. 16, 1944, in Minter, TX.
He graduated from Deport High School and served in the U. S. Army Reserves and was honorably discharged. His career with the Campbell Soup Company spanned more than 36 years before his retirement. Johnny found great pride in being caretaker of Minter Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Cathy Jean Whitney.
Survivors include his son, Chance Whitney & wife Rebecca, grandchildren, Case Whitney, Cora Whitney, and Ava Whitney, a sister, Peggy Risinger & husband Kenneth, an uncle, John Weldon Whitney, an aunt, Carl Lee Dodson, and several nieces & nephews along with a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Minter Cemetery, c/o John Wood, 1290 CR 16590, Pattonville, TX 75468.
