Jimmie David Anderson, 79, of Reno, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023, at his home.

Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, Sept. 25th at Bright- Holland Funeral Home Dr. Tim Reger officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Jimmie, the son of Ollie Elmer Anderson & Goldie Gay Rasor Anderson, was born Aug. 26, 1944, in Glory, TX.

He attended schools in Lamar County and lived here most of his life. He worked at Babcock & Wilcox for thirty-two & one half years before and down to its closing. He went from a helper to a supervisor and worked in many classifications during those years.

Jimmie & his wife, Elaine, also had many rent houses over a period of years that they acquired and built themselves. They met and became friends with many people while doing this.

He had a passion and love for old cars and street-rods. They were one of his favorite past-times, and he was proud to have built a 1929 Chevrolet which gave him and Elaine great joy. He and his wife belonged to the North East Texas Travelers. He loved his friends of the car club.

Jimmie leaves behind a very loving & devoted wife, Elaine Shamblin Anderson, whom he married in 1990. He spoke of this marriage many times as the one he should have or wished he had had many years before. He is also survived by two children, Brian Anderson and Melissa Cox & husband Ronnie, two step-children, Shannon Biard & husband Scott and Christopher Farmer & wife April, grandchildren, Avery Cox, David Cox, Tyler Biard, and Haley Farmer, one sister, Jeanette Blackshear, and two people he called his children, Paul & Vickie Vinson and their two children, Grant & Laney along with many nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of friends.

Jimmie loved his family and God more than anyone knew and God being number one. He knew a loving God in his heart would make everything else work out.
