Jerry E. Jones, 87, of Powderly, went home on May 20, 2024, to be with his Lord & Savior and all his family, friends, and loved ones.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 24th at the Pavilion of Long Cemetery with Rev. Mark Hutchison officiating.
Jerry was born March 16, 1937, at Powderly to Ermon Jones & Camille Cobb Jones. Jerry married Burrell Dean Pierce on Nov. 26, 1965, sharing 58 years of marriage.
Jerry retired from Guest Paper Company after 26 years.
Survivors include his wife, Burrell Dean Jones, two sons, Bobby Jones (Patricia) and Keith Jones (Cecila), a beloved sister, Linda Fowler (Marion), a sister-in-law, Mary McCool, six grandsons, 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews along with a host of friends.
Jerry loved fishing and camping with his many friends. He was president of Paris Bass Club for one year.
He is preceded in death by his father & mother, Ermon & Camille Jones, a son, Ronnie Jones, a brother, Morris Dale Jones, sister & brother-in-law, Doris Taylor (Billy), and two sisters-in-law, June Wright and Charlotte Adams who were very special to him.
Jerry was a member of the Powderly United Methodist Church. He attended regularly until his health failed. Jerry will always be in our minds and hearts.
