James Ricky Nations, 69, of Blossom, Texas, rode his final trail on August 21, 2026 . Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 25, 2026 in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Knights of Honor Cemetery in Blossom, TX. Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM till 7:30 PM Monday evening, August 24, 2026 at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.
James Ricky was born in Ft. Worth, TX to parents, James N. Nations and Erma L. Nations. He graduated from Prairieland High School in 1975. He lived his early years as a working cowboy and enjoyed team roping and rodeo activities. He was a member and participated in the Richland Hills riding club. He was a starter on the All Star baseball team of Blossom. He enjoyed working cattle with his dad and riding horses. Later in life he traded the saddle for a quiet porch but never lost his love for a good horse, strong coffee and a tall tale of humor.
He is survived by his mother, Erma Nations of Blossom, sister, Rhonda Nations of Arlington, TX and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James N. Nations.
