East Texas A&M University track and field sprinter Ibrahim Fuseini has qualified to run the 60 meter dash the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China, on March 21-23.
Fuseini (Accra, Ghana) timed 6.51 seconds to win the 60 meter dash last weekend at the Jarvis Scott Invite, which set a new school record and also hit the minimum standard of 6.55 seconds for the World Championships and earning him automatic qualification into next month’s World Athletics Indoor Championships.
His bid into the World Athletics Indoor Championships follows a stellar 2024 season for Fuseini in which he competed at the World Athletics Relays in 2024 and also competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics for his home country of Ghana.
The World Athletics Indoor Championships are slated for March 21-23 in Nanjing. The full list of qualifiers will be released closer to the meet with the first round of the 60 meter dash set for the morning session on March 21 and the semifinals and finals later in the day.
