Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks has released a statement regarding a social media post claiming statements about the Greenville shooting are no longer being taken.

“The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware that there is a post circulating on social media about statements are no longer being accepted from those in attendance at the Party Venue last Saturday night by law enforcement,” said Sheriff Meeks.

According to the HCSO, the post appeared on the Facebook page of Wilkerson & Campbell, LLC out of Dallas, Texas and it stated that the Greenville Police Department and Hunt County Sheriff’s Office are no longer taking statements regarding the shooting at the Party Venue.

The post stated, “Anyone with useful information regarding the innocence of Brandon Gonzales that was turned down by the Greenville PD or the Hunt County Sheriff’s Dept., we are taking/accepting statements. Feel free to send your statement to wilkersonandcampbell@gmail.com. We will review each one, thoroughly.”

However, Sheriff Meeks said this information is false.

“This information is FALSE and investigators are still asking anyone that was in attendance at the Party Venue the night of the shooting to please come forward and provide any information, pictures or videos to them as soon as possible,” added Sheriff Meeks. “The investigation is still ongoing and every piece of information provided is very important to investigators.”

Information can be submitted anonymously via Hunt County Crime Stoppers by calling 903-457-2929 if the person does not wish to be identified.

“I have spoken to one of the attorney’s with the law firm and told them that we are still asking for statements from people and he understood. This investigation is moving forward and every bit of information no matter how small or large is important to investigators so please get in contact with us and tells what you know”.
