Hollis Ray Topping, 91, of the Woodland Community, was received into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Paris Regional Medical Center.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled memorial services for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 16th, at Leesville Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Ellis and Rev. Neal Seaborn officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Family Life Center of Leesville Baptist Church, preceding the service.
Hollis, the son of Clyde & Gertrude Hightower Topping, was born Dec. 26, 1926, in Blakney, Texas.
He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict, as part of the Military Police. His career as an auto body technician spanned more than 50 years, during which time he owned and operated Main Body Shop in Paris. Hollis loved antique and classic cars and spent countless hours of his retirement, restoring his current find to its former glory.
He was a faithful member of Leesville Baptist Church where he was blessed with a wonderful church family.
Hollis was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline “Polly” Topping, whom he married on Aug. 19, 1950, building sixty-two years of family and memories before her death on Aug. 26, 2012. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Yvonne Morgan & her husband Willis.
Survivors include a daughter, Vicki Moss of Paris, siblings; Doris Baughn of Addielou and Morris Nelms & wife Bettye of Mt. Pleasant and Gordon Nelms & wife Yvonne of Mt. Pleasant, along with many nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
