A Hocus Pocus sequel has been given the green light.
In an interview with Fox 5 New York’s Good Day New York, Bette Midler, one of the movie’s original actresses, said she is “totally game.”
“They want to make a movie, they’ve asked us if we were interested and of course all of us said yes,” she said in the recent Fox 5 interview.
It’s reported the original cast members – Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy – will be returning.
‘Hairspray’ producer Adam Shankman is tasked with directing this upcoming sequel and expressed his gratitude on social media shortly after the sequel’s original announcement in March.
“The honor I feel in moving these beloved legacies forward is more than I Could have dreamt,” Shankman said. “I hope to please all the loyal fans. That’s what I tried to do with Hairspray. Thats (sic) what my goal is here.”
A release date has not been confirmed at this time. However, the original Hocus Pocus can still be streamed on either Disney+ or Amazon Prime.
