Gail Yvonne Farmer, 91, of Paris, passed away Monday, March 9, 2026, at her home.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 13 th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Guille Seigler and Rev. Mike Clark officiating. Burial will be made in Meadowbrook Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Farmer, the daughter of Lester Chapman and Vera Mae Doran Chapman, was born Nov. 21, 1934, in Oklahoma.
She was a longtime faithful member of Springlake Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She and her two sisters, Ruth Thompson and Wanda Thorpe, were always together; visiting the sick and homebound, attending funerals and visitations and doing anything they could to be of help to others.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph Wayne Farmer, Sr., whom she married on Aug. 2, 1953, building 58 years of family and memories before his death on Jan. 14, 2012. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Garland Chapman, and a sister, Ruth Thompson.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph Wayne Farmer, Jr. and wife Sandy and Doug Farmer and wife Carol, grandchildren, Emily Dunaway and husband Chance, Thomas Farmer and wife Chelsea, Ryan Farmer and wife Joy, and Erika Moore and husband Jackie, great grandchildren, Kiley Farmer and Suttyn Farmer and three siblings, Wayne Chapman and wife Pat, Jimmy Chapman and wife Jan, and Wanda Thorpe along with numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
The family would like to express appreciation to Embark Care and Chambers Hospice for the tender care given their loved one. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Gideons International, P. O. Box 261, Paris, TX 75461.
