The Powderly Volunteer Fire Department this morning hosted a ‘Fire Safety’ program for Pre-K through 5th-grade students at Aaron Parker Elementary.
“We discussed with the students on various topics regarding medical and fire safety/prevention,” said the department, “students got to see our members in full PPE with demonstrations and, of course, they got to meet the iconic Smokey Bear.”
The program was presented by Powderly Volunteer Fire Departmentmembers Regina Marie Johnso, Randi Johnson, Logan Thomas and Lane Martin.
Zachary Wilkerson with the Texas A&M Forestry Service was also present along with Smokey Bear.
“We very much enjoyed the opportunity to come in and talk with students. We had a lot of fun. Thank you Aaron Parker for having us.”
