Texas families can save money on back-to-school supplies during Texas’ Annual Tax Free Weekend, which runs from Aug. 8-10, 2025.
The Texas Comptroller’s office announced that qualifying items, including most clothing, footwear, school supplies, and backpacks priced under $100, can be purchased tax-free.
Qualifying items can be purchased tax free from a Texas store or from an online or catalog seller doing business in Texas. In most cases, you do not need to give the seller an exemption certificate to buy qualifying items tax free.
