Esther Lucille “Mrs. Mack” Larkin, 103 years, 10 months and 11 days, of Brookston, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Savior at her home on Tuesday, September 4, 2018.

Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Brent Bolton and Rev. Jerry Clements officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Larkin, the daughter of Robert Hinton Paden & Mary Pitts Paden, was born Oct. 24, 1914, in Delta County.

As a young woman she worked as a nanny and then at a grocery cafe in Commerce. After moving to Dallas she worked for Proctor & Gamble. Upon returning to Delta County Lucille married E. C. “Bill” Larkin Sr. in July of 1943. After the couple moved to Lamar County she worked at S. H. Kress, Newton-Wall and Leisure Lodge Healthcare Center. She was a member of Highway 82 West Baptist Church.

Her favorite things were attending family reunions and community gatherings, and visiting friends, the homebound, and nursing home residents.

Lucille, a loving wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother, kept her family all grounded in faith and prayers.

Mrs. Mack was preceded in death by her husband, E. C. “Bill” Larkin Sr. in 1991, her parents, Robert & Mary Paden, siblings; J. D. Paden, Leonard Paden and Pat Alley and in-laws; Flora Swanson, Annice Latham, Lorene Williams, Melva Knudsen, Tom Larkin, J. W. Larkin, Elmer Larkin, Ronnie Herald, and Bunny Clifford.

Survivors include two children; E. C. “Billy” Larkin Jr. & wife Margie of San Antonio and Phyllis Brumley & husband W. H. of Tigertown, grandchildren; Brian Cody Brumley & wife April of Globe, Monica Lee Purviance & husband Jesse of Cooper, Brooke Regina Wood & husband Charlie of Bulverde, Katie Esther Knolle & husband Brad of Bulverde and Emerson “Clay” Larkin III & wife Nikki of San Antonio, great grandchildren; Carter Larkin Brumley, Rilee Anne Purviance, Charlie Wood V, Laney Margaret Wood, Paden Elizabeth Wood, Lyla Jane Wood, Brady Miles Knolle, Baker James Knolle, Emmy Lucille Knolle, Ava Landry Larkin, Wyatt Dean Larkin, Dakota, Hannah, McKayla, Cassidy, and Kaidyn, a sister-in-law, Joey Lowry, numerous nieces & nephews including a special niece, Mary Coffman, caregivers; Betty Robinson, Myra Kinard, Sandra Evans, Ludy Sessums and Fay Stephens, her beloved neighbors; the McCarty’s, the Patterson’s and the Kinard’s along with a host of friends.

Her grandsons will serve as casket bearers.

The family will be at the home of Mr. & Mrs. W. H. Brumley in Tigertown.

The family would like to express appreciation to On Call Elder Care and Hospice for the care given their loved one.
