As roadworks continue in downtown Paris, residents can expect more changes as they travel through the area.
Currently, crews are working on resurfacing the streets which require parking in front of any given business to be blocked at certain times while work is underway. The contractor will mill off the existing surface, then place the new asphalt the following day, weather permitting.
The biggest change coming will be parallel parking around the fountain.
“City crews are removing the inside lane around the fountain, and converting the head-in parking to parallel,” said City Engineer Carla Easton. “This will only be on the inside of the plaza right now and was recommended in the Toole Design plan.”
Residents can also expect to see head-in parking along all side streets become parallel in the near future on one side.
