This Saturday, the community will come together to make Paris, Texas even more beautiful by picking up litter around the area as part of the “Don’t Mess with (Paris) Texas Trash-Off” campaign.
The event is being organized by the City of Paris, and Keep Paris Beautiful as part of the statewide, “Don’t Mess with Texas” and national, “Great American Cleanup” projects.
More than 200 volunteers representing schools, families, businesses, churches, clubs and civic organizations will participate, all demonstrating their pride in Paris.
The event will kick-off at 8 a.m. at the Love Civic Center Pavilion and t-shirts and supplies will be distributed, and teams will be assigned areas.
From 8:30 a.m. to approximately 11 a.m. teams will pick up trash, and then return to the Pavilion for a post-event hot dog lunch and celebration.
Recognitions will be made for the teams who picked up the most bags, found the most unusual items, and the team with the most volunteers.
Teams and individuals are welcome to join.
Please sign up online at http://paristexas.gov/trashoff, or just show up at the Love Civic Center Pavilion at 8 am on April 15.
