In Loving Memory of Dietmar Warner Heiden
March 20, 1939 – July 17, 2025
Dietmar Warner Heiden was born on March 20, 1939, in Münster, Westphalia, Germany, to Hans Heiden and Magda Sieber. He spent his childhood in the nearby town of Greven, where he was raised alongside his two sisters and one brother.
As a young man, Dietmar moved to the United States to pursue his education in Minnesota, where he earned a degree in Horticulture—a lifelong passion that would remain central throughout his life. His love for gardening, flowers, and lawn care was well known to all who knew him.
Dietmar dedicated 23 years of service to Kimberly-Clark, retiring in March 2005. His strong work ethic led him back to the workforce in 2014 when he joined Turner Industries, where he worked for six more years until June 2025, when illness forced him to retire. On his final days, Dietmar passed peacefully at home in Paris, Texas, with his beloved wife of 28 years, Althea Davis Heiden, by his side.
He is survived by his wife, Althea Davis Heiden; his brother, Manfred Heiden of Germany; two sons, Daniel Heiden of San Antonio, TX, and Erich (Rhonda) Heiden of Paris, TX; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Edwards of Reno, TX, and Collette Young of Rowlett, TX; numerous grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Dietmar was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and first wife Barbara Heiden. Known for his warm smile and sharp sense of humor, Dietmar touched many lives with his kind heart, dedication, and passion for life. Whether in the garden or on the job, he gave his all. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 22nd at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Lawrence Dangerfield officiating. Burial will be made in Sylvan Cemetery.
