The Republican Women of Red River Valley will be honoring several local women during an event held on Mar. 23 at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds for Women’s History Month.
“Gritty, Gutsy and Game Changers,” said Cynthia Rice. “These women have worked hard and are achieving their goals. We will present certificates of honor to women who locals have recommended including women in the fields of engineering, technology, medical fields, educators, business owners, CEO’s, CFO’s, police, military, home business, all women leaders, boards, church leaders, mothers, grandmothers, and foster parents who have gone beyond.”
Guest speakers include:
Leyla Hughes – businesswoman, speaker and wife to Senator Bryan Hughes.
Paula Portugal – Mayor of Paris, Texas and the first woman to hold the position in 178 years.
Dr Pamela Anglin – Paris Junior College president for 20 years and certified accountant.
Katie Bartlett – News Director at KFYN 104.3 The River/KLOW 98.9 Trumpet radio and editor of myparistexas.com
The event is open to the public and is being held at the Red River Valley Fair Grounds with ‘Meet and Greet’ beginning at 6:30 p.m. and the event starting at 7 p.m.
