According to Paris EMS Director Russel Thrasher, the COVID testing site hosted by the city and Lamar County Health District administered more than 350 COVID tests.
At a positive rate of 20.22%, only 72 of the 356 administered tests came back positive.
City officials, overwhelmed with such a large turnout, said they expected to see only about 150 patients. However, 356 COVID tests were administered. Hours after the testing site was closed, the city reassured no results were lost and they were all complete. They were simply overwhelmed with such a large turnout, and were unable to contact everyone with their results and resumed notifying early this morning.
The COVID testing site at The Covid Center, 1128 Clarksville St. was set up “to help alleviate the backlog of sick people needing tests,” according to the PLCHD.
