CitySquare Paris will soon have a full-time Executive Director after its Advisory Council approved unanimously to begin its search, while the current Executive Director Derald Bulls continues to serve until the position is filled.
“The last two years of being part of the CitySquare Paris (CSP) team has been one of the most rewarding opportunities I have ever been a part of in my 67 years,” Bulls said. “From the strategic planning session in January 2021 to the coming weeks, the leadership of this organization has, and will be in excellent hands. I’ve learned so much from the past and current board chairs and have seen a glean in their eyes to truly see this organization elevate to the next level. Every success has their fingerprints on it.”
Bulls said the initial agreement of 10 hours turned into more, “not because they asked me, but because I believe in what is taking place at CSP.”
He said CSP needs and deserves a full-time executive director to continue its upward trajectory.
“I can’t stress enough, the time given was my choice and I have asked to still have an opportunity to serve on the Advisory Council if they will allow me to,” Bulls said. “At the same time, I am honored and humbled to have been given the opportunity to serve as the ED for the last 18 months.”
Bulls is expected to stay on as the Executive Director of CitySquare Paris until a suitable replacement is found. Once a new director is found, Bulls plans to work alongside them to share the knowledge he’s gained over the past several months to help continue the organization’s momentum. Bulls expects a new member of the team will be in place by April 1.
“No doubt, over the next 12-24 months, the ‘look’ of CSP and CSD will be different,” Bulls said. “What won’t change is the determination to fight the causes and effects of poverty through service, advocacy, and friendship.”
Expressing his gratitude to those who sent gifts, support, prayers and desires of making a difference in community lives, Bulls said, “Thank you.
“You are a blessing,” he continued. “I invite you to join me in continuing to invest in this vital program. East Texas Giving Day is set for Tuesday, April 25, 2023 and you will be hearing more about this soon. Our Second Annual Swing For Success will be held at the ‘Range at the Ridge’ at Pine Ridge Golf Course on Saturday, June 3. We would love for your to join us!”
