Charles Leslie Burton, Sr., of Paris, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025 in Paris. Graveside services with Military Honors will take place at 2 PM, Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Forest Chapel Cemetery in Chicota with Rev. Allan Hubbard officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery thirty minutes prior to service time. Bright-Holland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Charles was born August 12, 1937 in Paris to Claude and Vida Henley Burton. He graduated from Paris High School with the
class of 1955. He then joined the U.S. Navy that year and served his country until 1961. Charles married Nancy J. Haubeil in California. He was a retired Master Electrician. He and Nancy relished their work together in owning and maintaining rental properties in California and Texas.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, 1 brother, and a step-daughter, Cathy Goodrum. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Nancy; two daughters, Cynthia Duarte & Sharol Kaullen and husband Rick; a son, Charles L. Burton, Jr. and wife Carolyn; a step-son, Jeff Hall and wife Chris; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
