Charles Fredrick Sikes, 73, of Paris passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023, at his home.

Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. LaVonda Carter, Rev. Daniel Hines & Rev. Johnny Lovett officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was born July 18, 1950, to Prentice Benson Sikes & Bernice Vista Pearl Grimes Sikes. He was the baby of 15. He was born into a family of bricklayers which is what he did until he no longer could. He met the love of his life in 1972. Darlene and Charles spent 47 years together until she went on home with Jesus. He served 3 years in the U. S. Navy and retired after 22 years in Texas National Guard.

He is survived by his three kids, Tommy Horton and his wife Carie of Aubry, TX, Melinda Hernandez Briseno and husband David of Paris TX, and Tabitha Watson and husband Justin Watson of Paris, TX. He had 9 grand kids,

Charles Sikes, Nicholas Clark, Cheyenne Clark, Carlos Hernandez, Christian Hernandez, Ericka Briseno, Tyler Horton, Cory Horton, & Ryan Horton and 9 great grandkids along with his brother, Eddy Sikes and his wife Carol. And lots of nieces and nephews. In 2021 he made the best decision when he gave his life to the Lord and no matter how he felt if the church doors were open he was there. He touched many lives and will be missed by many.

Casket bearers will be: Charles Sikes, Nicholas Clark, Christian Hernandez, Carlos Hernandez, Clint Sikes, and Clay Sikes.
