Brookshire’s in Paris celebrated their grand re-opening today with staff and customers as they officially presented their newly renovated store.

The grocer has been a staple in the community since its original opening in 1958. Brookshire’s has been around since 1928 when the first store opened in Tyler, Texas.

“We pride our company as being a part of the community, and with the grand re-opening we saw today, it was one of the best we’ve had,” said Brookshire’s CEO Brad Brookshire.

Brookshire was accompanied by other heads of the company, including his son Trent who is the COO. Brookshire went on to express his gratitude to the Paris community, saying that he is proud that he, along with his father and uncle, have been able to keep his grandfather’s vision intact and continue the company’s success of serving their customers.

“My grandfather always said that he felt this was his calling,” said Brookshire. “Some people are called to serve God, some to serve the community in an official capacity, and for him, it was serving people through the grocery business.”

The store not only got a much-needed facelift to the outside of the structure, inside was revamped entirely as well.

From the car park to the cash registers, the flooring inside, and all brand new cases, Brookshire said it’s as good as a newly built store from the ground up.

The whole construction process began in September of last year and officially wrapped up just after the new year. Brookshire said the estimated cost was a couple of million dollars, but every penny spent was well worth it.

“This is our town, we enjoy being here to serve every customer, and all our staff members do their best to make sure that every experience with Brookshire’s is a great one,” said assistant store manager Ross Rutherford.

“It’s been great visiting with locals today and seeing so many people enjoy the ‘big cart’ that we have out front of the store to celebrate the day,” said Brookshire. “We hope everyone gets the opportunity to come down and check out the new store, knowing that Brookshire’s really strives to be a part of the community.”
