Bobbie E. Cope Nichols, 83, of Blossom, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on September 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She left this world to be with the Lord, with her husband and children by her side.
Born in Howland, Texas, on November 13, 1941, to Bob and Lorene Cope, Bobbie grew up in Paris and attended Paris High School. At the age of 15, she met the love of her life, Wendell Nichols, at the Airport Drive-In Movies in Paris, Texas. The two were married on December 23, 1958, and together built a beautiful life in Blossom, raising their daughter Rebecca and son Robert.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Bob Cope and Lorene Cope Thrasher, her stepfather Jesse Thrasher, and her brothers Steve and Phil Cope.
She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 67 years, Wendell, of the home; daughter Rebecca (Becky) Nichols of Irving, Texas; son Robert Nichols and wife Darlene of Blossom, Texas; and several nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
For 36 years, Bobbie served Paris Junior College with pride and dedication, managing the PJC Bookstore. Her colleagues and students admired her strong work ethic, organizational skills, and the joy she brought to her role. After retiring, Bobbie and Wendell enjoyed traveling together, often making stops at their favorite restaurants and discovering new ones along the way.
Family was always Bobbie’s greatest joy. She delighted in shopping trips and visits with her daughter Becky, and she especially loved listening to live music—cherishing the times she could hear her husband Wendell sing and play guitar and her son Robert on the drums. She was known for her generosity, often finding joy in selecting thoughtful gifts for others. Bobbie also loved to cook, welcoming friends and family into her home for dinners filled with warmth, laughter, and love.
Bobbie was a devout Christian whose faith guided her life. She treasured her church family and her time spent in fellowship. Always vibrant and fashionable, she loved dressing up, wearing beautiful jewelry, and keeping up with the latest styles. Her radiant spirit, kindness, and generosity touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Sylvan Cemetery. The service will be conducted by Pastors Burgie Thompson and Mel Murphy. Special music will be provided by Stacy and Linda Murgrove. Bright-Holland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Brad Spann, Ross Miller, Donnie Croy, Dubba Lane, John Scott, and Brad “Catfish” Nutt.
Bobbie’s legacy of love, faith, and selflessness will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.
