Billy Jack “Bill” Briscoe, 71, of Reno, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at his home.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for family & close friends at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 30th at Meadowbrook Gardens with Rev. Mike Fortenberry officiating. Bill will lie in repose at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday.
Bill, the son of Jack Briscoe & Mary Katherine Carroll Briscoe, was born Nov. 11, 1952, in Paris, TX.
He graduated from Prairiland High School and immediately began his career with Smith Carpets. He worked until just six weeks ago. Bill loved every minute of his time working and helping people.
He was a member of The Cowboy Church in the Camp. Bill loved fishing with his good friend, Bucky Covey, camping, hunting, and especially bailing hay with Carl Peek.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mary Briscoe, his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Jack & Faye Latham, and siblings, Dorothy Morgan, Jim Briscoe, Jolene Stellpflug, and Scotty Briscoe.
Survivors include his wife, Nita Latham Briscoe, whom he married on June 1, 1974, building almost fifty years of family and memories, a son, Cameron Briscoe, grandsons, Rayce Briscoe and Jayce Briscoe, a brother, Robert Briscoe, sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law, Rita Kammer & husband Kenny, Rocky Latham & wife Sheri, and Jackie Latham & wife Darla along with many nieces, nephews, and friends and his best buddy, Chopper Dog, who stayed at his side until the end.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Arthur Tijerina and his staff for all the kindness they have shown during this time.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Mary Crawley Cancer Research Center at Medical City or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
