State Fair of Texas unveils Big Tex’s new boots. Big Tex is finally getting a new pair of cowboy boots.
An artist from Irving, Texas designed the size 96 cowboy boots. Jessica Bonilla beat out 300 other artists in a recent contest for the opportunity to design boots for the biggest cowboy in Texas. The finalists were judged on Texas Pride and creativity.
Bonilla’s winning design features a setting sun behind a cactus with Texas wildlife.
These one of a kind Lucchese boots were revealed last Friday morning in Fair Park.
The State Fair of Texas officially opens in two weeks and runs from Sept. 29 to Oct. 22.
