Betty Joe (Kenemore) Thompson peacefully passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, May 16th at Pine Tree Ranch assisted living in Paris, Tx.
Betty was born on August 9th, 1930, in Deport, TX to Thomas and Mamie Kenemore. She married Bennie Thompson on October 20th, 1947 building 53 years of marriage and what could only be described as an abundant and loving family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers; J.T. ,O.D. , Weldon, and Pete Kenemore, her husband Bennie, two sons; Bobby Thompson and Brady Thompson, grandson Bennie Michael Thompson, great grandson Bobby Thompson, and great great grandson Lennox Foiles, and her son in law Rickey Reaves, and a daughter in law, Vickie Thompson. She is survived by her daughters Brenda(Don) Kirkpatrick, Barbara Reaves, Bonnie(Clint) Armstrong, Belinda(Phillip) Peeples, Billy(Kathy) Thompson, Barry Thompson, Bradley(Jenny) Thompson, Bryan(Marcie) Thompson, and a legacy of 37 grandkids, 76 great grandkids, and 39 great-great grandkids. She was an amazing cook and would always have a place at her table for anyone needing a meal!
She also absolutely loved our family Christmas gatherings, and she made sure everyone had a gift under her tree, which was no small feat!
Her family was truly her joy, whether listening to the family band (Country Junction) play, or at any family gathering! She always had a deep love of music, especially the old classic hymns. Truly a life well lived!
Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 20th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Jarrin Peeples and Pastor Nathan Darst officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
