Betty Jane Roddy, 87, of Blossom, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019, at Paris Regional Medical Center.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 18th, at Blossom Church of God with Rev. Benny Dollins and Rev. Larry Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Jane, the daughter of Thomas Lee Oats & Lucy May Thompson Oats, was born Nov. 6, 1931, in Cunningham.

She attended school at East Delta and graduated from Cunningham High School. On April 15, 1950, she married Talma L. Roddy, building forty-five years of family and memories before his death on Aug. 25, 1995.

Following the death of her husband, Jane worked as a caregiver for Magnolia Home Health and sat with people in their homes.

She was a faithful member of the Blossom Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a granddaughter, Ashlee Roddy, and all her siblings; Billy Joe Oats, Cecil Oats, Ruby Prestridge, Annie Holbert and Katherine Lollar.

Survivors include two sons; Ronald Roddy & wife Beverly of Blossom and Mike Roddy & wife Carol of Blossom, five grandchildren; Tonya Whatley & husband Brian, Alishia Bratcher & husband John, Erik Roddy & wife Cheryl, Lucas Roddy & wife Kortnie and Jessica Smith & husband Herbert, great grandchildren; Caleb, Jacob and Joshua Bratcher, Jordan, Gracie and Serena Whatley, Hayley Reynolds & husband Baren, Evan Roddy, Nathan Roddy, Ryan Roddy, Shanlee Roddy, Rudd Roddy, and Kendall Smith, two great great grandchildren; Isabelle and Allison Reynolds along with many nieces & nephews and a plethora of friends.

Casket bearers will be: Lucas Roddy, Erik Roddy, Herbert Smith, John Bratcher, Brian Whatley and Marty Herman.

The family would like to express special thanks to Summit Hospice, Platinum Home Health, and Colonial Lodge for the loving care given their loved one.
